The sublime setting of Stabat Mater by Poulenc is performed too infrequently. The gathering of these young performers presents a unique occasion in which the glory of this work is celebrated in the perfect space which is St George’s Chapel.

The programme will also include other beautiful pieces performed by the individual ensembles, as well as John Rutter’s glorious orchestration of the Magnificat from Howells’ Collegium Regale setting, included here in memory of the late Sir Stephen Cleobury who conducted this in his final concert and recording with King’s College Cambridge.

The Purcell School of Music Chamber Choir
The Chapel Choir of Jesus College, Cambridge
Taplow Youth Choir
Orpheus Sinfonia
Elin Manahan Thomas – Soprano
Gillian Dibden, Edward Longstaff and Richard Pinel – Conductors

Britten Hymn to St Cecilia
