A display of items from the Chapel’s Library and Archives, including a John Schorn pilgrimage badge. The location of the display is particularly apt as the South Quire Aisle was the main focus of medieval pilgrims when they came to St George’s Chapel.

Since its foundation in 1348, music has played a core role in the daily life of St George’s Chapel. This exhibition of items from the Archives and Chapter Library celebrates the history of the Chapel’s choir, organists and organs.

In 2008 Derek Reay held an exhibition for the Windsor Fringe Festival titled ‘100 People Who Make Windsor Work’, the idea being to show the diverse range of occupations and pursuits of people who make up our community. Now, 10 years on, Derek has revisited this community, where there have been some changes.

In 1348 King Edward III established St George's as 'a College of Canons, Presbyters, Clerks and Knights, who in the same Chapel shall evermore wait upon the Lord's service'.

Ancient Beings was installed in the Tower Gallery at Eton College from November 2019 to April 2020. Despite its popularity, the exhibition closed significantly earlier than planned due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Eton College felt it important to turn this event into an opportunity, and have recreated Ancient Beings as an online exhibition.

Twelve years ago, Massimiliano Muratori visited Windsor during a holiday and fell in love with the town, its historic buildings and surrounding area. Deciding to move here he began work at the Royal Windsor Information Centre and in his spare time taught himself to sketch.

Food has been sourced, prepared, cooked and served to the boys and staff of Eton College from its foundation in 1440 until the present day. Eton has the second-oldest working kitchen in England, and College Kitchen and College Hall have been operating for the purpose of placing meals on the tables in the same spaces for over 500 years.

Montem, a peculiar and spectacular Eton ceremony, was celebrated for centuries until it was abolished in 1844.

An Exhibition of Paintings by Arthur Manton Lowe

A copy of this iconic book from Eton College Library will be on public display as part of national celebrations of the 400th anniversary of the publication of the First Folio of William Shakespeare in 1623. Combine your visit to the Museum of Eton Life with a view of our temporary exhibition, Ad Montem, which tells the story of an historic Eton festival first recorded a few years before Shakespeare's birth.
