Verdi Requiem

Performance:
7.30PM Saturday, 28th September 2019
Genre:

Windsor and Eton Choral Society gave their first public performance in 1837.

This September they present the thrilling choral masterpiece, Verdi’s Requiem. Written towards the end of his life, when he had already created famous operas including Aida, La Traviata, and Il Trovatore, his unique musical creation provides strong dramatic music, brilliantly contrasted with magical quieter passages, and gave us arguably two of the most exciting sections of choral music ever composed, the Dies Irae and Tuba Mirum.
