Unanimously described as one of the leading pianists of his generation, John Lill’s career spans over 55 years. During this time he has given upwards of 4,000 concerts in more than 50 countries, both as a recitalist and as a soloist with the world’s greatest orchestras.
Making a welcome return to the Festival, he will perform a superb programme in the magnificent setting of Eton College’s School Hall. With an extensive repertoire that includes 80 concertos, he is particularly acclaimed as a leading interpreter of Beethoven, performing the composer’s complete sonata cycle on several occasions, and will conclude this recital with his Piano Sonata No. 32.
