Views of Eton College have long been a popular subject for topographical artists and watercolourists, and the College is fortunate to hold an extensive collection of watercolours. Mainly comprising works from the 18th and 19th centuries, the collection represents virtually all the most significant British artists of the golden age of watercolour painting.
With paintings by Paul Sandby, Alexander Cozens, J M W Turner, Thomas Girtin, John Frederick Lewis and John Ruskin on display, this talk by the Keeper of Fine & Decorative Art at Eton College offers a special preview to a forthcoming exhibition in the Verey Gallery at Eton.
