Vaughan Williams: A Sea Symphony

Vaughan Williams chose the sea as the subject for his first large-scale choral-orchestral work, the Sea Symphony, and this resulted in a truly great masterpiece. This concert also includes Sibelius’ violin concerto with Hong Kiu Mak, an accomplished young violinist who was elected as the Hong Kong Young Musician of the Year in 2006. He is currently studying at Eton College as a music scholar.

Windsor and Eton Choral Society is in its 180th year, and is one of the five oldest choral societies in the country. This year the Society has featured in the pageant, shown on ITV, for The Queen’s 90th Birthday and also sang at The Patron’s Lunch on The Mall.
