Royal Opera House Young Artists: A Royal Gala

Some of the world’s most talented young opera singers from the Jette Parker Young Artist Programme, Covent Garden, come together for a gala performance of popular operatic arias and ensembles accompanied and curated by Oliver Gooch.

New Zealand soprano, Madeleine Pierard was a Jette Parker Young Artist at The Royal Opera, Covent Garden. She is in demand as a concert artist and in opera roles throughout Europe and in her home country of New Zealand.

An Associate Artist with Classical Opera, Australian Mezzo Soprano Emily Edmonds was a scholar with the Dame Nellie Melba Opera Trust before joining the programme in 2015.

Tenor Luis Gomes is originally from Portugal and was a student at the National Opera Studio before becoming a Jette Parker Young Artist in 2013. Most recently, he returned to Covent Garden to sing Beppe in Pagliacci.

Hungarian baritone Gyula Nagy joined the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the start of the 2016/17 Season. His roles in his first season included Fiorello (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Filotete (Oreste), Konrad Nachtigal (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg).
