The Story of Babar, the Little Elephant has captured the imaginations of children and adults ever since the famous French book was published in 1930.
In summer 1940, Francis Poulenc was holidaying with cousins. Bored of listening to his piano playing, the children of the house put the book of Babar on the piano and asked him to play the story – 'L'Histoire de Babar' was born!
With a delightful orchestration of the work and guided by a narrator, we welcome back the energetic Orpheus Sinfonia to explore the tales of Babar with you in this interactive performance.
