Wendy Cope

Talk
3.00PM Tuesday, 19th September 2017

‘The day he moved out was terrible –

That evening she went through hell.
His absence wasn’t a problem
But the corkscrew had gone as well.’

Wendy Cope’s witty and astute poems in collections such as Making Cocoa for Kingsley Amis, Two Cures for Love, and Family Values, have made her one of the nation’s most popular poets – she was revealed as the people’s choice for Poet Laureate by a BBC Radio 4 poll.

Very funny, but also very wise, Wendy will be here in Windsor to read her poetry, and to discuss her work, her literary tastes and assorted other matters with Alastair Niven, former Director of Literature at the Arts Council and the British Council.
