Nathan Meltzer with the Philharmonia Orchestra

Music
7.30PM Tuesday, 19th September 2017

This year our flagship Waterloo Chamber concert offers a feast of romantic classics and young talent.

We are excited to welcome back Nathan Meltzer, the immensely talented 16-year-old winner of the 6th Windsor Festival International String Competition, for his concerto debut with our Associate Orchestra. Under the direction of Michael Francis, a British conductor whose star is on the rise, the Philharmonia present a programme of music for which they are renowned: Sibelius’s dramatic Violin Concerto paired with the passion and desire of Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony – a work which leads us to a triumphant conclusion via love, despair and sweeping waltzes.
