The town of Eton existed for many years before William of Normandy built his castle on the other side of the Thames. This walk explores Eton’s history through its buildings, its proximity to the river and the surrounding countryside. The walk also includes the history of Eton College, founded by King Henry VI and now among England’s premier boys’ schools.
