Formed in 2012 by director Susan Piggott, Voci is an auditioned chamber choir of twenty to thirty singers brought together by their common love of beautiful music. Their concert, Sing Joyfully, will celebrate music from the Renaissance to the 21st century, from Christopher Tye to James MacMillan, stopping off on the way with Purcell, Elgar, Walton and many others.
Britain has a great choral tradition along with many of the world’s top choirs. British choral music is at least partially responsible for the continued existence of over 80 cathedral and college choirs, hundreds of parish church choirs and thousands of amateur choirs up and down the country. There’s something really special about the sound of singing voices and, in the fabulous acoustic of St Stephen’s, join Voci for an extraordinary evening of beautiful and spiritually uplifting music to celebrate this heritage to be proud of.
