Mozart Requiem and Symphony 41

Performance:
7.30PM Saturday, 19th March 2016
Genre:

The Royal Free Singers was founded in 1973 by Ben Gunner from a small group of parents of pupils at the Royal Free School in Windsor, where he was a teacher. 42 years later, Ben is still their conductor! A large, thriving, yet close-knit choir, Ben's warm personality and passion for choral music continue to inspire them.

This comprises three of Mozart's latest and best-loved works: the short but beautiful motet Ave Verum, the magnificent and moving Requiem (left incomplete at the time of his death) and his final Symphony no. 41 in C (nicknamed ‘The Jupiter’) a wonderfully exuberant and exhilarating piece, which will be performed by the Orchestra of London.
